Hon. Commissioner Martin Muduva is currently serving as a Commissioner at the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC). He is also a member of the Innovation Drive and Assessment Committee under POTRAZ, a lecturer in the Information Sciences and Marketing Department at Midlands State University and a Technology Risk and Assurance Consultant. Academically, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) Degree majoring in Data Science and is currently enrolled in an MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, set to be completed in June 2025. His qualifications also include a Master of Leadership and Corporate Governance, an MSc in Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence, an MSc in Big Data Analytics (1st Class) and a B. Tech (Hons) Degree in Information Security and Assurance (1st Class). Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Risk, Safety and Security Management, as well as a Certificate in Higher and Tertiary Education.
With extensive expertise in ICT, emerging technologies, cybersecurity, data science and digital transformation, Commissioner Muduva has been instrumental in advancing digital innovation and cyber resilience across the public and private sectors locally and regionally. His work spans research, consulting and high-impact projects that strengthen cybersecurity, business continuity and business competitive strategy formulation. Recognized as a thought leader, he frequently speaks at major conferences and media platforms on emerging technologies and sustainability. Additionally, he provides specialized training for board directors on emerging technologies shaping industries. Commissioner Muduva is affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His academic excellence has been acknowledged through multiple awards, including the HIT Book Prize for Best Graduating Student in Technopreneurship, the Best Design and Innovation Project award, the Vice Chancellor’s Prize for Best Graduating Student in Information Security and Assurance and various others from institutions such as the Ministry of Defence, Integrated Digital Security Solutions (IDSS) and Microsoft Corporation.
He has made notable presentations at prominent events such as the Data Privacy Symposium at Elephant Hills (2025), the Digital Economy Conference at ZITF (2024) and technology discussions on CapiTalk FM as well as StarFM. His publications cover a broad range of topics, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning and digital transformation. His research contributions continue to shape discussions on emerging technologies in governance and sustainable development.
Commissioner Muduva’s background in emerging technologies and cybersecurity significantly contributes to the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission’s mandate.
